working out my thoughts in #oilpaint
Even for a serial list-maker, this is turning out to be a good remedy for a #cluttered #mind . I’m going to start another batch... seems to keep the bigger work a little more free too ✨
Sometimes it takes 4 years, a bought of anxiety, a move across the country, and having a baby to get the guts pick up a favorite project and finish it. Though I rarely admit it, I’m often scared I’ll ruin a good thing. Sometimes I do. More often, I just procrastinate. Today, though, it turned out the way I saw it in my head. Thanks @abeatcreative for getting me here. This one is called “Collective forgetfulness”

Welcome to my palette #cadmium #chartreuse
It’s like someone just lit up the disco ball on the dance floor. Shit’s getting #crazy . I’m not sure adulthood is supposed to be this fun or this silly. #illtakeit

Striving to heed #goodadvice from a past #painting professor. . . Swipe to put on your reading glasses.
Finding a good balance in action is what I’m practicing in color, marks, and composition In the studio but also in many other places these days. Just my reminder to look for beauty when seeing dirt. Spend time in imagination somewhere in the midst of a day full of computer work. And for the same reason, I’m heading into the woods to savor some wonderful people this weekend after getting back into my Boston commute and work routine this past month.
What’s too even?
What’s too equal?
Stopped prepping dinners for the week - in the middle of a messy kitchen, messy house with mounds of unfolded laundry- to quickly sketch this wiggly napper, asleep in his bouncy chair. I suppose I’ll always have chores but I’ll only have this shrimp of a #figuredrawing subject for a brief slice of time.
Also if you like #chores I recommend #havingababy . The fun never ends.
Don’t you just want to lick that?! But seriously, don’t.
Solo show, just south of Boston, coming to you in late October.
