Artist

Elizabeth Noble

Elizabeth Noble is a Boston-area painter and illustrator. She uses art to investigate her surroundings, seeking meaning in daily life. Bold mark-making unifies her work, which ranges from intricate drawings to large-scale oil paintings. Elizabeth uses simple subjects and experiences for her compositions; asking viewers to look more closely at the layered stories tucked into every corner of daily living.

Elizabeth grew up in Nebraska, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Studio Art from St. Olaf College and moved to New England. The artist worked in agriculture and medical research, marketing, and operations before pursuing a full-time art career 2020.

Elizabeth cites work as a generous educator. Field notes came first, sketchbooks second, and over time, visual exploration and documentation became a way of life. In addition to being an artist, Elizabeth is a mother and an entrepreneur. Most days you will find her walking her neighborhood and theorizing through paint and pencil, rigorously making work in her home studio, located in Wakefield, Massachusetts.
